Skylark Studio jewelry is designed by me, Karen Stanford, and based in the wholesome hamlet of Virginville in Dutch Country Pennsylvania. Lots of horse buggies and monster trucks, but also some artists, wandering yoga types, and lots of organic farmers.
I've been inspired by my many years of working in museums, architecture firms, and libraries. I've always been super frugal and cautious about popular trends - design, fashion, anything really. My best inspirational moments come when looking through my Architectural Digest collection, seeing which trends lasted (those awesome clear acrylic chairs) and which ones didn't (green shag). I'm hoping to turn some of the current trends into timeless classics by making simple designs out of high quality materials. We'll see how they look in a few years...
