Inspired by my own backyard, the rolling hills of Berks County, PA. Hearts and tulips are common motifs in Pennsylvania Dutch folk art. Taken from the decorating history of their ancestral Germans, the immigrant PA Dutch (or Deutsch) made the most of their humble surrounding and stripped the design down to the basics - the heart symbolizing love and the tulip meaning faith. What else do you really need?
100% sterling silver with sterling ear wires - an original Skylark Studio design, hand cut from 20 gauge sterling sheet (about the thickness of a quarter). The heart is approx. 1 1/2" across and 1 3/4" long. Side hoops dangle about 2 1/2" down from the ear.
